Ashok Kakade, managing director of Sarathi, said. The demand for trained drivers is increasing at home and abroad. Accordingly, the institute has decided to impart skill development training to 1500 candidates in driving light motor vehicles and heavy transport vehicles every year.

The youth will be given one month’s training free of cost by IDTR, Pune, a central government organization under the road safety initiative of the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The training will last for eight hours every day. It will provide information on vehicle parts, their maintenance, repairs and traffic rules in India and abroad. Practice and training will also be provided at the regional level.

This scheme will create employment opportunities for the youth in rural areas of the state as well as abroad.

छत्रपती शाहू महाराज संशोधन, प्रशिक्षण व मानव विकास संस्थेकडून (सारथी) ‘सरदार सूर्याजी काकडे सारथी वाहनचालक कौशल्य विकास प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम’ राबविण्यात येणार आहे. या अंतर्गत मराठा, कुणबी, कुणबी-मराठा व मराठा-कुणबी समाजातील १ हजार ५०० तरुणांना वाहनचालक प्रशिक्षण विनामूल्य देण्यात येणार असून, प्रशिक्षणार्थींना एका प्रशिक्षण महिन्यासाठी १० हजार रुपये विद्यावेतनही देण्यात येईल.

• ‘सारथी’चे व्यवस्थापकीय संचालक अशोक काकडे यांनी ही माहिती दिली. प्रशिक्षित वाहनचालकांना देशात आणि परदेशात मागणी वाढत आहे. त्यानुसार संस्थेने १५०० व्यक्तींना दर वर्षी हलकी मोटार वाहने (लाइट मोटर व्हेइकल) व जड मालवाहू वाहने (हेवी ट्रान्सपोर्ट व्हेइकल) चालवण्याचे कौशल्य विकास प्रशिक्षण देण्याचा निर्णय घेतला आहे.
• ‘सारथी’चे अध्यक्ष तथा निवृत्त मुख्य सचिव अजित निंबाळकर यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखालील संचालक मंडळाने १७ डिसेंबर रोजी झालेल्या संचालक मंडळाच्या बैठकीत या योजनेला मान्यता दिली. छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराजांच्या जयंतीदिनी, १९ फेब्रुवारी २०२५ पासून वाहनचालक प्रशिक्षण सुरू करण्याचे निर्देशही दिले आहेत.
• तरुण-तरुणींना केंद्रीय रस्ते वाहतूक आणि महामार्ग मंत्रालयाच्या रस्ता सुरक्षा उपक्रमांतर्गत असलेल्या आयडीटीआर, पुणे या केंद्र शासनाच्या संस्थेमार्फत एका महिन्याचे प्रशिक्षण विनामूल्य देण्यात येईल. दररोज आठ तासांचे हे प्रशिक्षण राहील. त्यामध्ये वाहनांचे भाग, त्यांची देखभाल, दुरुस्ती तसेच वाहतुकीच्या भारतातील व परदेशातील नियमांची माहिती देण्यात येईल. क्षेत्रीय स्तरावर सराव आणि प्रशिक्षणही देण्यात येणार आहे.
• या योजनेमुळे राज्यातील ग्रामीण भागांत तसेच परदेशांत तरुणांना रोजगाराची संधी निर्माण होणार आहे.
